Job Summary:

The Vice President, Microbial, Viral,and Cell Therapies, will be responsible for leading and expanding the company’s microbial, viral, and cell therapy development. This role will drive innovation, optimize processes, and strengthen strategic partnerships to support the company’s growing pipeline of biologics, gene therapies, and cell-based treatments. The VP will provide scientific, operational, and strategic leadership to ensure the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and compliance in product development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for microbial and viral technologies and cell therapy manufacturing.
  • Provide scientific and technical leadership in microbial fermentation, viral vector production, and cell therapy processes.
  • Oversee the design, scale-up, and commercialization of microbial and viral-based biologics and cell therapy products.
  • Drive innovation in upstream and downstream process development to improve yield, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory, quality, and commercial teams, to ensure seamless technology transfer and product scale-up.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with external collaborators, CDMOs, and academic institutions to enhance the company's capabilities and pipeline.
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory requirements, including FDA, EMA, and other health authorities.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader at conferences, industry events, and regulatory discussions.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and operational strategies to meet company goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Microbiology, Virology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in microbial fermentation, viral vector manufacturing, or cell therapy development within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of GMP manufacturing, regulatory guidelines, and quality assurance for biologics and cell therapies.
  • Experience in process development, scale-up, and commercializing microbial and viral-based products.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align technical strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive strategic initiatives.
