Job Position- Business Development, Biologics Biosafety and Analytical Testing

Job Title - Can range from Associate Director - Senior Director

Work Location - Remote, East Coast preferred 

 

Overall Job Summary:

  • Responsible for promoting and signing contracts for biologics (large molecules including proteins, antibodies, ADCs/bioconjugates, etc.) biosafety and analytical testing services (including but not limited to viral clearance, unprocessed bulk testing, cell bank testing and characterization, QC testing for lot release and stability studies, analytical method development, protein characterization, bioassays, etc.) across existing and new clients in North America
  • Work closely with the senior Business Development leadership team, and operations, to develop the right strategies and tactics to meet the sales targets for North America.
  • Stay current on competitors and competitive strategies, and provide input required for the development of future service offerings.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve regional sales targets.
  • Grow the biologics biosafety and analytical testing services business in North America, by identifying/developing new clients, and supporting the expansion of existing clients’ business.
  • Build strong internal relationships across functions.
  • Work closely and align with functions/SMEs for each account.
  • Plan and perform the selling, proposal and contract negotiation process independently.
  • Represent WuXi Biologics at trade shows.
  • Contribute to key commercial strategies across the Global BD team.
  • Manage all business aspects of the customer relationship.
  • Deliver exemplary customer service.
  • Timely update of Salesforce.com and monitor KPIs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree. MBA or PhD preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years, or Master/PhD degree with at least 7 years, of life science industry experience preferably including 5 years of successful sales and territory management experience within the CDMO / CRO biologics biosafety and/or analytical testing services space.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong gravitas and relationship building skills.
  • Listening and empathy demonstrated.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
  • Must be organized and detailed-oriented.
